Lausanne, Switzerland, November 9, 2016 - The 2018 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship scheduled to take place in Italy and Bulgaria from September 10-30 will feature a total of 24 teams, including five teams from the NORCECA Confederation, four from Asia, three from Africa, two from South America and ten, including world champions Poland and hosts Italy and Bulgaria, from Europe.

North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA)
The first round of the qualification process in the NORCECA Confederation was completed in October, with the teams highlighted in green below progressing to the second round which will take place in July, 2017.
Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC)
In Asia, two pools of five teams will compete in the second round of the qualification process in 2017 after the first round is completed in 2016.
African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB)
Dates for the qualification process are still to be confirmed.
South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV)
A tournament to be confirmed will decide which country will join Brazil at the 2018 Men's World Championship, who qualify as the 2015 South American champions.
European Volleyball Confederation (CEV):
Three European teams are automatically qualified for the 2018 World Championship. They are world champions Poland and hosts Italy and Bulgaria. They will be joined by seven European teams following completion of a three-round qualification process. For more information, click here.
The 2018 Men's World Championship will follow on from the record-breaking 2014 edition in Poland which was won by the competition hosts. The 2018 World Championship will be the 19th edition of a competition which was first played in 1949 in Prague in what was then Czechoslovakia.
