FIVB President Ary Graça received a commemorative plate from the Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports
Varna, Bulgaria, 19 September, 2018 – FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°, alongside CEV President and FIVB 2nd Executive Vice-President, Aleksandar Boricic, met with the Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Krasen Kralev, to discuss the exciting future of volleyball events in Bulgaria.
The FIVB President spoke with Mr Kralev at length about the early success of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, currently being jointly hosted by Italy and Bulgaria, the great fan attendances in Varna and the importance of building on the country’s appetite for elite-level volleyball.
President Ary Graça also had a meeting with the Executive Director of the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna, Mr Minko Hristov, whom he thanked for the city’s enthusiasm in hosting the Men’s World Championship and creating a world class atmosphere for both athletes and fans.

“The passion for volleyball in Bulgaria is wonderful to see,” President Ary Graça said. “It is clear, not just in the sold out stadiums but throughout the city and on the streets, that the people of Bulgaria have been inspired by our sport.
“Our goal is to give spectators a truly engaging experience, one that they will not forget. The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has created a fantastic stage and I hope we will see more events held here in the near future.”
During his time in Varna, the FIVB President spent a lot of time discussing the growth of volleyball in Bulgaria with Mr Dancho Lazarov, President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, and other board members from the National Federation. He also met with Bulgarian volleyball legend Lubo Ganev, who presented the President with a copy of his biography.

The visit included an opportunity for international media to sit down with President Ary Graça, where he talked openly to both Bulgarian National TV (BNT) and Polish channel Polsat, about the World Championship and early success of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, the passion of its fans and the electric atmosphere that volleyball has inspired throughout the country.The FIVB President talks to the Bulgarian National TV
The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship is being jointly held for the first time in its history by Italy and Bulgaria. The finals will take place in Turin, and conclude on 30 September 2018.Quick links - Volleyball:
