final match in the 2nd Round of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World
Championship against Australia.
Head-to-Head
· This is the first ever meeting between Slovenia and Australia in a world level major tournament.
· World level major tournaments are Nations League, Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup, World League and Grand Champions Cup.
Slovenia
· Debutants Slovenia have won four and lost three World Championship matches.
· Slovenia suffered their first straight-sets defeat at the World Championship when Brazil beat them 3-0 on Saturday. A day earlier, Slovenia registered their first 3-0 win, against Belgium.
· No Slovenian player reached double figures in scoring on Saturday against Brazil. Alen Šket (9), Mitja Gasparini (8) and Tine Urnaut (8) were the most prolific Slovenians.
· Tine Urnaut has scored 103 points for Slovenia at this World Championship, most of all Slovenia players.
Australia
· Australia have won two and lost five World Championship matches in 2018.
· Australia could win three matches at a single World Championship for the first time.
· Australia could lose three successive World Championship matches in straight sets for the first time since their first seven matches in the tournament, in 1982.
