USA look to stay undefeated in match against Tunisia

 

Bari, Italy, September 18, 2018 - USA are one of only three teams undefeated after Monday's action at the 2018 FIVB World Championship - and they look to keep it that way when they take on winless Tunisia Tuesday. The Americans (4-0) are through to the next round of the competition, while Tunisia (0-4) are going home after today's match. USA have only lost once to Tunisia in 12 matches at official competitions, but that was 48 years ago at the 1970 World Championship.

Head-to-Head
• United States have won 11 of their 12 matches against Tunisia at world level major competitions. Tunisia's only victory came in these teams their first meeting, beating USA 3-1 at the 1970 World Championship.
• World level major competitions are: World Championships, Olympic Games, World Cup, World League, Grand Champions Cup and the Nations League.
• The other meeting between these teams at World Championships both came in the 1974 edition. USA won both matches 3-0, first in the Consolation Round and then in the finals for 13th place.
• The most recent world level match between these teams was USA's 3-0 victory over Tunisia at the 2015 World Cup.

United States
• United States have won all four matches at the 2018 World Championship, against Serbia, Australia, Russia and Cameroon.
• United States could start their World Championship with five victories for the first time since 1994 (also 5), when they eventually finished third.

Tunisia
