World Championship trophy presented to Bulgarian Prime Minister

 

Sofia, Bulgaria, April 18, 2018 – The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation president Dancho Lazarov and vice-president Lubomir Ganev presented the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship trophy to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at the daily meeting of Bulgarian Council of Ministers.

The national federation officials expressed their gratitude to the government for supporting them to stage the World Championship - the biggest sporting event in Bulgaria - which they will co-host with Italy from September 9 to 30.

Bulgarian cities Sofia, Varna and Ruse will host two pools in the first round and another two pools in the second round, while the Final Six matches will be held in Italy.

Prime Minister Borissov wished the competition success and highlighted that hosting the World Championship is a huge promotion for the country.



The specially commissioned trophy is a true masterpiece made of gold-plated materials and weighs a total of nine pounds. The trophy tour will make stops in the three Bulgarian host cities.
